Before we can even begin to define Oregon’s workforce of the future, we have to take stock of the current employment landscape, both in Oregon and the nation. And where we are is unprecedented. The U.S. is in the midst of the longest economic expansion of the modern era.
“If the expansion continues, it will be the longest on record since World War II,” said John Tapogna, president and partner at the economic consulting firm ECONorthwest. “It is an unusually tight labor market nationally.
